Sebastian Noriega, born in Colombia’s capital city of Bogotá, is a contemporary guitarist, bass player, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer. Music has given him the opportunity to explore multiple places and countries. As an eternal foreigner, his goal is to incorporate new sounds from everywhere he goes.

In his early years, he taught himself how to play guitar, and since then he has been seeking to discover new worlds, melodies, and perspectives in music, playing Progressive Rock, Rock Fusion, Jazz Fusion, Funk, Blues, Latin, Pop, R&B, and Afrobeat.

In the last five years, Sebastian has immersed himself back into his musical roots of Colombian traditional music, working with Vallenato artists on a project focused on featuring instruments that are not usually part of the genre. Additionally, he recorded guitars for an Indian movie titled The Three-Legged Horse, and has performed with artists in Colombia and Australia, such as Sofi IV and Tuva Finseras.

Sebastian is a versatile musician who has also worked in the educational field, teaching guitar, bass, drums, and music theory. He has also directed small ensembles and prepared students for AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) and ANZCA (Australian and New Zealand Cultural Arts Limited) examinations.

He completed his Master’s degree in Contemporary Performance and Production at Berklee College of Music's Valencia, Spain campus in 2024. For his final project, he created a live recording project that aimed to merge Western contemporary and Latin American music. This project consists of an ensemble exploring different musical genres through which he seeks to establish connections between professional and self-taught musicians.

During that period, he performed at the Palau de les Arts multiple times with Berklee guest ensembles and attended as a Berklee guest for the session with the Metropole Orkest and Mark Lettieri, under the direction of Jochen Neuffer in Hilversum, Netherlands. Additionally, he has contributed to major productions such as Lago de Conciertos, Inocon, Festival Fronteras, and La Fira de Berklee. He has performed and recorded with artists such as Filo Ebid, Serkan Hakki, and Avery Raquel. He also contributed as a guest guitarist to a project led by acclaimed producer Christian Lohr. Furthermore, he served on the production team alongside Nic Hard (producer for Snarky Puppy) on the track “Flowers in Bloom,” which won the Grand Prize in the R&B category at the 2024 John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Over the last year, Sebastian completed two postgraduate diplomas at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, specializing in composition and production for audiovisual formats as well as orchestration and arranging. He actively applies these disciplines across various media projects to refine his creative language.

Sebastian continues to advance his career as a performer, composer, and producer. He collaborates with international artists while developing new projects that constantly develop his skills and expand his artistic voice.
